Eat soup!

Welcome back to the blog after quite a long break!

Today I just have a quick message to share with you: Eat soups!

Soups are a great way to get vegetables into your diet and as we know, most of us don’t eat enough vegetables. Moreover, warm soups in the winter are a great meal. You might say we’re already in spring, but well, the temperatures are not that high yet, so you might as well find yourself craving a dish that will warm you up, such as a tasty home made soup.

A practical benefit of cooking soups, is that most of them, once cooled down, can be stored in the fridge for a couple of days. There is nothing better than coming home after a long day at work and finding a home made soup in the fridge. Just need to heat it up and there you go – a beautiful, nutritious meal is ready on your table. A slice of toasted sourdough bread to go with your soup is always a good idea. You can also break it into pieces of course and add to the soup.

Over the past weeks I’ve been posting various soup ideas on my social media. Here are some of them to give you some inspiration.

I cooked mine with wild mushrooms picked by my grandfather. Doesn’t get much better than that! But the soup is tasty with store bought mushrooms too 😉

This is a soup with super powers. If you have a cold or feel weak, it will give you the boost of nutrients you need! Especially if cooked for you by someone who loves you and cares about you 🙂

My recipe is in Polish! So need to translate it asap! Coming soon!

I think I didn’t use any recipe here and just improvised with the veggies I found in my fridge. I cooked them in some broth and then pureed with a hand blender. At the start fried chopped onion and garlic as a base, then added broth and veggies. One can be creative when it comes to the vegetables and spices used.

So there you go! Three ideas for you. No detailed recipes this time. You will find many online of course.

I’d love to hear about your favourite soups or your recent soup discoveries! Please share with me in the comments section below.

Happy soup making!
